Gonna start this page off with the good ol bicycle punch. This was super weird and happened to me last winter. I was living in BC, and meeting some classmates at a Starbucks to work on a group project. I was living literally two blocks from there so I figured walking there just made sense. It was around dinner time so it was already fairly dark out but I thought I'd be safe from any weirdos.
I started walking and at the first corner I passed a dark lane where I saw a guy standing beside his bicycle. I think I smiled or at least tried to look semi-pleasant to this stranger... But I definitely didn't do anything offensive.
That was that so I kept walking. Starbucks was in sight when I heard someone yell and as I turned to look behind me for the noise the bicycle guy went by and punched me in the arm! He was going fast downhill so I honestly don't know how he managed to punch me on his way, but the sidewalk was super close to the road so somehow he did it. I also thought maybe he lost his balance and was gonna fall so he punched me (a wide stretch of a theory) but he kept zooming by and turned the next corner.. So he obviously was in control.
Anyways, I almost slipped in the snow because I lost my balance, which made me even more rattled that my poor aching body had to react fast and recover before falling on the ground. Didn't wanna end up in the snow looking like the lady in the picture.
Needless to say I had a bruise the next day, and most of my friends couldn't believe that I wasn't making the story up. But that's my encounter with the notorious bicyclist of downtown Kamloops.
